Construction lookahead tracking that catches problems early

Use a three-week lookahead to catch what could stop work: open RFIs, late submittals and missing materials. Arise Crew helps you track it.

What a lookahead is for

The master schedule shows the whole job. A short-interval lookahead, often two to six weeks out with three being common, shows what the field will actually do next and what has to be true before they can start. Its real value is not the bar chart. It is the list of constraints: the answers, approvals, materials, inspections and crews that must be in place before each activity begins.

Constraints are open loops

Most lookahead constraints are things a PM already tracks somewhere: an RFI that needs an answer, a submittal that needs approval, a delivery that needs confirming, a sub that needs to commit manpower. When those items live in separate lists, it is easy to miss that the drywall start next Tuesday depends on an RFI that has been open for three weeks.

How Arise Crew helps

In Arise Crew, every RFI, submittal and follow-up on your board can carry a needed-by date taken from your lookahead. The Foreman crew member uses those dates to rank what is urgent, so items that block work in the next few weeks rise to the top. Dispatch drafts follow-ups for the ones that are late, and they wait in your approval queue until you send them. Arise Crew is not a scheduling tool. It is the place where the open items behind your schedule get tracked and closed.

A simple weekly lookahead meeting

Keep it short and repeatable. Walk the next three weeks activity by activity. For each one, ask what could stop it: information, approvals, materials, equipment, labor, access or inspections. Write down each constraint with an owner and a date. Review last week's commitments and note which ones slipped and why. Then send the updated list to everyone who owns an item. The crew can draft the minutes and turn every action into an item on the board.

Why it pays off

Finding a missing approval three weeks out is a phone call. Finding it the morning the crew shows up is a lost day. A steady lookahead habit, backed by a board that does not forget, moves problems earlier, while they are still cheap to fix.

How to try it

Arise Crew is in a free founding pilot. You request access, we review every request and reach out to set up a short call, and then we set up your board and switch on your crew. You load a few real projects, with their open items and due dates, and use the crew on your normal work. Use only what you are comfortable sharing, since everything stays in your own private workspace and is never used to train AI models. Paid plans are planned but not live yet. Founding pilots get the setup fee waived when paid plans launch. If it does not save you time, you simply stop using it.
